This weekend saw activity at the northwest LMA sponsored site, this is the 1st of the intended fields up and down the country, its work in progress, the area is massive, but at the moment, its stuff with big wheels, heres the boss enjoying the LMA trainer, its not officially open yet, just testing the water, so to speak,
History in the making, a national model organisation that is building fields for its members, the commitee is lookng for other area for fields, anyone know any?
Good stuff indeed! Well done to all. A few good mows and a decent roll or two in the winter and it'll be like a bowling green! It'll be good to see a few more around the country. I'm trying to think about a site in the Midlands. Will have a look around.
2014 artical, The former RAF base at High Ercall, known as the Angel Centre, has come up for sale, with offers being invited of more than £1.5 million.
Does anyone know anything about Wymeswold airfield just east of Loughborough? Looks like some karting and haulage activity but not much else. Might be worth investigating. Worth noting that the Loughborough club is located about a Mile north.
Hi all, more work was done to the new site again today, Dave Johnson managed to persuade someone to let us use there roller and Dave also bought his lawnmower. Just a three man team today including me, it is still a work in progress but we are slowly getting there. Plenty more ruts to fill in and more rolling to do, I managed to capture some shots of the work being done today.
I would like to take this opportunity to thank Dave Johnson and the guys for the tremendous amount of work and commitment they have put into making this flying field happen.. I have been there the last couple of weekends and it is worth saying.. It has taken a lot of hands on hard work as well as organising and being let down by farmers and the weather etc. Flying fields don't just miraculously happen! This new field has and is taking a lot of time and effort Thank you guys Dave B
