Unfortunately running up the engine with the prop and spinner showed excessive run out on the output shaft. I was unaware of this having ran the engine without the large prop and spinner that magnified the run out.

An expensive professional repair attempt followed which didn't really work

Thus I had a massive model airplane that I had built for an engine that didn't work. Bugger.

Fortunately an identical engine minus the cooling fan was on eBay. I decided to take a gamble on it and came up trumps as the internals are like new.

A couple of days of engineering later the new engine now equipped with cooling apparatus burst into life, turning a 37 by 14 prop at 4900rpm. It sounds awesome.

Spinner had been changed to a smaller metal one due to the high rpm.

Apologies Karl for the time it's taken to post this, technical issue with flat battery and charging on the camera but heres a video of the maiden flight.Sorry about the camera work and any strange language on the video, it was emotional.

Thanks Phil, it looks pretty good in the air.

After the first two flights I've know got the carb intake coming from within the fuselage. This has sorted out the mixture problems caused by the airflow passing over the intake hole, causing a vacuum and making the mixture rich.
I've also fitted a 38x12 prop ( previous 37x14) . It has had two more flights on Wednesday 05/07 and it flies much better the engine/prop now howl as they come past.
