Battle of Britain model aircraft commemorative event, Tibenham airfield 29/9/17

Postby Philip Goff » January 26th, 2017, 9:58 am

Dear All
I am pleased to announce that we will be holding

A 77th anniversary of the Battle of Britain Model Aircraft Commemorative Event,
which will be an any Scale/Warbird/Jet meet at Tibenham Airfield on Friday the 29th of September 2017.
Scale Aerobatic will also be welcome, scale foamies are also welcome.

By kind permission of the Norfolk Gliding Club

Three (smooth) tarmac runways in various directions.

As usual I have bid for RAF flypasts.

Pilots TBA
Spectators £2

A one minute silence will be held at midday for the fallen from all sides.
Hopefully the remembrance ceremony will once again be conducted
by Dave Welsh and the 'Spirit of Coltishall Association'

Proof of BMFA or LMA insurance will need to be provided on the day.

Food, Drink, Bar and Toilet facilities are available at the club house.
The Battle of Britain Ball will be held in the Clubhouse in the evening.

Caravan and camping facilities are available at Tibenham airfield.
Thank you.

Tibenham Airfield

Dear All
Just under three weeks to go until this event.
Hopefully some LMA members will be able to attend.

Dear All
I would like to thank all those who made the effort
to attend this event in less than favourable conditions.
Despite the weathers best efforts we had a really good day
with some really nice models in attendance,

I have been organising these events since 2002 at Tibenham
and previously at RAF Coltishall last Friday was the first time
we have received a visit from the CAA. He was happy with how
the event was run, which was nice to know.

A big thank you goes to Charlie C. for his efforts getting my Spitfire to run
and letting me have a go with his magnificent Mustang.

I would also like to thank my helper's on the day they are,
Clive G.
Muffler
Dibble
Tony C.

Tony King for finding the fault with my Spit engine,
which was self inflicted by me.
Brian Cooper Red1

And a special thanks goes to the 'Spirit of Coltishall Association'
for putting on a very moving remembrance ceremony.

So once again thank you all for your support.

Regards Phil Goff
