Well, after all the heartache, got a couple of test flights at Elvington last week. Flew very nicely after some trimming and landed with full flap on rails.

My venerable, 17 year old J-M Merlin 160 still runs impeccably and has enough power to get off runways and enable scale flight. However, our sloping, grass strip at Longhorsley is another matter and needs a bit more oomph, so just substituting a brand new J-M 210 as we speak. Far too much power for realistic flight but, hey, that's where the left thumb comes in..! .
