Test days and Fly-in's

Anyone know when the 2025 test days (like Elvington/Buckminster) will be known and where they will be published? Normally I seem to be the last person to find out..post event!

I assume the official LMA events will be posted in the forum under LMA Events and the Non LMA events will populate in due course.

Hi,

I was hoping to get a bit more notice than 6 days! + "the look of it" so where is this information posted? I can't see anything on the LMA web site either logged in or not + nothing on the Facebook page (LMA groups). Is there another group?

Another guy in our local club told me at weekend, apparently it's selective invite only.

Is this an actual LMA flying day or a "private" rental of Elvington? I know there are some private events held there funded by individuals and these should not be confused with LMA days.
Maybe our new committee can advise ?????

It's not a committee, it's a board now & has been since the end of 2018. The same way exemptions have gone the way of the dodo and are permits now.

Anyway, Elvington has been rented this coming Saturday I believe by a club for their own use and not as an LMA event.

The 2025 LMA flyins and flying says will appear in the members area of the LMA website under 'events', the same as the public shows for pilots booking. Once they are published (most likely in early 2025), there'll be a mail out to all the members.

All LMA members yesterday but no invite.

I think Rob explained it, maybe who ever hired it doesnt know you and thats why you didn't get an invite.

Private fly in/test day nothing to do with the LMA.

BMFA Buckminster site , no need to book in just come along and fly , if you want to camp you will need to pay at the BMFA office when you arrive .sorry no jets allowed due to BMFA conditions

But with a bit more notice than 5 days

Hot off the Press
The 2025 dates for the LMA fly-in at Buckminster are 17 - 18 May. For 2025 Scale jets will be permitted alongside all other IC, electric and glider models.
More details will be published in due course on this Forum and the LMA calendar.
