Zenoah 45 carb

Postby Nick Reeves 3055 » September 27th, 2010, 7:11 pm

hi all,

i am posting this here and on RCMF so that i can get as many opinions as possible. i bought a s/h zenoah 45 a little while ago and gave it a visual once over when i got it but that was all. tonight i made up a test stand for it and noticed that the butterfly was very stiff to operate throughout its full travel eg not just one point in its movement. it is stiff enough for me to think that a servo will struggle to move it easily. i loosened off the operating are to see if that was the problem but it didn't help. i haven't disturbed anything else yet but thought i would seek advice :D

any thoughts??

cheers

nick

Hi Nick,
I've got a new Zenoah 45 and the return spring on the butterfly is stiff. I've just got a Easy Link carb adapter for mine (maid by Zenoah) so i will be removing the throttle arm and spring. On my Zenoah 38's i've left the return springs attached and my Futaba S3001 servos have no problem moving them.

Sean.
