Hi guys

Thanks. Should be at the spring do up at Bradford as it is booked in.

Hi Alan the fuse splits just forward of the wing and just aft of the wing

The outer wing panels come off which are around 7 ft long each.
The wing tip esm pods with the wingtip fences on are removable
Also the tail halves come off and the finlets to. The canoe on the top of the fin will be glassed onto the fin.
And the refuel probe is removable

Pop up when you are free just give me a bell to make sure I'm in. I'm normally in the garage for a while every night when Leanne is in work.

A quick update,

The nose and tail (MAD Boom) now sanded to shape, the centre fuse is now joined to the centre section but still alot of work to do on this.

Mike

Maybe I'm missing something, but would it not be much easier to sheet individual airframe parts before joining major bits together?.........fuselage before centre section is added, fin before it's added to the rear fuz etc....

When building a fuselage on a vertical or horizontal crutch as you are, it's also normal to frame up and sheet one have as far as possible before turning it over to build the 2nd side. The sheeted 1st side will be very rigid making framing up the 2nd side easy. If your unsheeted structure is already stiff enough to allow the 2nd side to be built on, then I'd suggest the basic structure is rather over built and may end up a bit heavy.

Just my 2p's worth...............(Crackin project though :D )

Hi Phil

Any bit of advice is more than welcome

The fin is all cnc locking into the fuse so it needed to be built in before the sheeting could be done.

The wing as you said would have been easier doing it the way you said but as my building board is not big enough to accept the centre section wing, as I placed them together which took me over an hour as they are a really tight fit, it squared up the spars fuse etc. Leaving an aligned centre section. This weekend I will jig it up and then partial sheet the centre section to lock it in position. Also like you said. With working on the full size nimrod, I think in a few places I may have over engineered it but hopefully with taking it to the Bradford do I will get advice etc.

All advice is very welcome as this is my first over 10 ft model.

Just awaiting fuse and wing tubes. Spent all night sorting one wing u/c plate.

Cheers

Mike

Cheers Phil. Just fancied doing something different that I don't think has been done before.
