Hello All,

Having been at Cosford last weekend it has given me a swift kick up the backside to get the Lancaster on the flight line !! It was fantastic to speak with Tony Nijhuis give me some new inspiration!

As for Den, i want to see yours on the flight line next mine next year, no excuses haha

The Lancaster will be in Augusts copy of RC Model World

Just a quick update, I have now done all my 6 flights on the lancaster, and have flown at Southport last weekend!! It has been worth all that hard work now!

Ok, So selling just isn’t an option.... it seems i have become more attached to the model than i thought..... working on her (the plane ) night after night, Christmas day, new year and so on must of got into my blood...

So my problem is mainly the body...getting it sorted,

As a reminder when i painted it with its second coat of resin is sadly didn’t cure, I was left with a wet mess after cleaning it up and recoating the model it finally cured.. BUT upon sanding and premièring the wet came back through

It seems leaving the model 2-3 months has made it fully cure but I am now left with a real mess high’s lows and marks all over it.
Has anyone had this issue, if so how did you get around it?

Rob--from what i can remember when we were last out with the Lanc,it wasnt that bad---i would use a powered sander on it to take off all the high spots,and then use stopper to fill all the crevices etc before spraying again with a good coat of primer filler---you know the weight isnt an issue any more,so just get on with it---a few weeks work will transform it ready for final colour---DAVE

Dave, I was also thnking of applying a coat or primer by hand instead of spraying. So hopefully i can get a enough on to cover the small cracks .... then rub it back down ready for painting?

What do you think, would this work?

Rob--it really does depend on how deep the cracks etc are---whichever way you go,there will be no easy option,i would rub down first rather than add more !!!!

I could but i find i then start to get highs and lows ... The body of the Lancaster is going to kill me!

Rob--i used just one of the cheapo B@D orbital sanders on the big flat surfaces---it should save a lot of time for you and if you are carefull no problems---DAVE
