HELP!!!!!!!!!!

Postby robbieskipton » August 1st, 2010, 5:33 pm

Got a small problem..

The 60% Yak 54 is 1 month away from completing.......BUT... i have a problem..

My Club will not let me fly it down there as it is apparently TOO BIG.... So, i was wondering... Is there anyone out there, who beleives that there club would let me do my proving flights there ( Within the west midlands...)

Ideal Field..

No Trees ( Ideally)
Long Runway ( As i dont know what it is going to be like on landing)
Ideally Flat Land
No Noise Issues as it is loud

Is there such a magical place?

Regards

Robbie

Thank yiu very much for the offer.. But 140 miles is too far, as the plane has to be transported in 2 Landrovers !!!!

Rob, Two Land Rovers For one model does not seem very practical to me. You need a trailer surely.

Why not put the required dimensions on here and see what may come up. It could be the answer.

Well, To be honest i am happy that i built it and designed it Until Cosford.. When some of the club members ( The Comittee) saw it, and went in to panic stations and started fluttering around like chickens,

We didnt have a problem with flying it at my club, we even asked before we built it, " is/was it ok to build and fly it down here" and the answer was something around " You are mad, But yes you can".
We asked the comitte every month if it was still ok, and the answer was always "Yes", But soon as they saw it, it was " You cant fly that down there"

Hence the reason we now have a problem... :(

Don't you just love club commitees, I'd be patient, one good hard cold winter and you might have a new younger commitee next year. .

Ouch,... There is two ways to take that, One is harsh, One is ok...

I wish they would change, but ti has been the same comittee memebers for 5 years at least now :(

Im not a member so cant speak for them, but have you approached the chaps at Langar near Nottingham, its a nice site and they are a good bunch. Not sure what part of West Mids you live in, but it fairly easy to get to, you just need your passport to cross the A5 :)

As for your club, thats a real shame. Ive looked at one clubs website (a very well know club in the West Midlands) and they suggest that a .40 is a large engine and pilots should wear flo vests when flying..... ...as long as its a safe plane on a suitable site and the obvious common sense rules are observed (no fly zones, frequencies etc) then thats it

Anyway I look forward to seeing the beast fly
