painting camo schemes

Hello,
I am putting together a jet for my son to fly and he has suggested i paint it in an artic camo paint scheme, i have painted lots of other models but always stuck to simple straight lines .Can someone advise me on a suitable masking tape as the model is all moulded with surface details<rivits> and do you suggest i use paint masks or mask each part of the scheme? hard defined edges between colours in not an issue,
i will try and upload a photo of what i mean???

'Soft tape'..............it's a cylindrical foam tape that's only sticky on about 1/4 of it's diameter. Mark the camo pattern out, apply the tape then mask out the area you don't want to paint with regular paper masking tape & newspaper. As the foam tape is cylindrical, you get a degree of underspray rather than a hard edge.

This is an automotive producted intended for masking door & boot jams when panels are resprayed, so find you local 'specialist' auto body shop supplier and they should have it. 3M amongst other make it.................
