Goliath redo

Postby Jack Kennedy » December 1st, 2013, 4:02 pm

Hi all
Need a bit of advice, removed covering and cleaned up, removed tail plane, before doing so checked incidence and found it to be -1to2 degrees, not knowing if this is normal for this model have been looking for any plans or reference for this, I am led to believe the model could be a DB (david boddington) design and was a free flight model, taking all this into consideration have set to zero incidence with room for adjustment if need be.
Any advice with regard to my very small problem would be appreciated, will still keep looking for any reference.

Jack

The original incidence you measures of minus 1 to 2 deg relative to the wing is actually correct and I strongly suggest you do not alter it.

The Goliath was actually designed by D A Russel way back in the 1950's (i think but could be wrong on this) as a free flight model to be powered by a spark ignition motor.

A nice piece of history.

John

Thank you for this information, being told one thing and reading another and someone suggesting another gets a bit confusing, I am still learning all this stuff, but will keep at it.

Once again thanks for your assistance
