Mosquito

Postby Charlie Cox » August 2nd, 2016, 5:48 pm

Hi all,

I am about to start work on a barely started Rawle Mosquito.

Has anyone on here built and finished one? There doesn't seem to be much info about.

If so, what weight did it come out at.

I am thinking two DLE 55's, and lots of scale detail. I am guessing, about 20 kg, but would like someones experience.

Many thanks in advance.

Charlie

Prototype is just over the 20 kg mark. watch the weight very carefully as it will run away. lighter the better. heaver it is the faster it will land. you have to fly it down just like the full size. wheelers only one plane that doesn't like a 3 pointer. Dont over power it as it will bite when you dont expect it to.
Neil Hutchinson built one which is in the mosquito museum.
Hope this is of help

Thanks Alan,

I have used all the contact details on the sit, more than once, as well as Richards face book site tono avail.

I'm begining to think he doesn't like me.

All i want is two, possibly four spinners.

Charlie
ive been trying to solve the problem of the spinners. its not looking good at the moment. getting anything out of the company over the years has got harder, and know I found out some tools I own have be machined over. mossi and hurricanes are no more. Been trying to find a small back street company that will be happy doing small numbers. I have in the past done a couple of carbon spinners but I don't have the time and are not cost effect to do.

Hi Charlie
I made a few carbon spinners for my mosquito which is the same size, if you dont have any luck i could perhaps make a few more.

Hi Charlie.

Re:- Alan's comment above......it's spinners from Brian Hutchinson's big Lanc I've been doing recently, not a Mossie.......however, if there is enough interest, I'll happily tool up and do composite spinner cones for the Rawle Mosquito.
