A really great production, Dave, and the realisation of a longterm aim .......
I well remember in 1993 when taking-over from Brian Spoor as Secretary, he expressed the hope that one day - armed with future profits from Cosford I might add - the Association could afford to produce an in-house Journal that could compete with the professional modelling mag's in both content and format. Finally, I think we're there......
The large format has so much going for it; large photographs which really enhance the aircraft - and - the skills of those who photograph them (Neill, particularly, must be very pleased.......!); technical drawings, diagrams etc., which accompany articles can now be large enough to be useful (the A5 format is really too small to do justice to them).
It really is a production which befits the LMA of the 21st Century. It has been said many times that the Journal is the single, all-embracing entity which unites us and despite modern communication methods, Websites, Forums and the like - important as they are in their own right - the Journal is very much the 'crown jewel' of the LMA.
I do hope that it continues in its new format. I - and I'm sure the vast majority of members - would very much encourage this, even if it came to the point that it required a few extra quid on the annual fee........
