105 inch Tempest

Postby chris willis » June 14th, 2011, 7:29 pm

Latest Design, the Tempest, I have been working on this for the past few months when at home in the evenings, but the main project is the FW190 still which is back on course at the weekends when permitting. :?

Chris - I had been considering the Vailly version at 95" span, but maybe I should wait for yours. When is your kit likely to be available?

Hi Bob

It definitely won't be this year I'm afraid, and am guessing it will be between Jan & May next year, I have to finish the Fw190 first as people are waiting for that, then be happy with test flights before going to kit, the same with the Tempest, all I can say is that it will be worth the wait, the kit will come with an instruction manual with pictures as the Tiffie, ( no plans ). It is aimed at the model builder to enjoy both the build and the flying, with a fairly quick construction too, (all wood supplied in kit to the clothing stage ) there is a full back up on parts and I am always glad to help through the build if any queries, at a later date there will also be a Tempest 11 version as well, and it's bigger than the American one :D ;) I hope this answers your questions and I thank you for taking an interest in the Kit.

Regards
Chris

The elevator linkage is now in with a carbon rod running to the elevator, and one to the retracting tail unit, there is not a lot of space in there but have managed to keep all moving parts away from one another.

This model seems to have dissapeared from the radar, it must have flown by now?

No further ahead I'm afraid, getting the oleos next week, have the retracts, but the FW 190 has to be done first, :?

What these ones ;)

British bespoke struts which will be available for the kit next year, these are quality made with no jamming on landings, a full back up spare parts, these will and have been made in quantity so no waiting when the kit comes out.

Bling 8-)

The photo really doesn't do them justice. These legs ang units are very nice and to be honest they look better than the Sierra ones and are damped way better.
