Has anyone ever tried spraying Emulsion ??? it was suggested to me last week that household white matt emulsion would be a good primer to spray on my Vulcan----apparently it doesnt crack and its a good filler ,i realise it would need sealing before going out in the winter weather-----any thoughts??
Dave, forget it. Household emulsion is a pig to rub down because of all the plasticisers in it. Go to a car paint shop or any paint/stain supplies ( not household stuff ) and ask for high build white primer. I get mine from a company called 'MORRELLS', they have branches nationwide. It is cellulose based and thins quite well. It flats back perfectly and leaves a super finish ready for the top coat. Solly.
Agree with Stuart......I have sprayed emulsion with petty poor results. Nightmare to flat back as it's rubbery and it rolls up into little balls under the paper. Stick with white cellulose..............my local supplier can do 5ltrs for between 40 and 50 quid, so not vastly expensive.
Thanks to all for replies----thanks to Phil for convincing me to not use---i dont like the rubbing down job at the best of times,so your comment has convinced me to go back to the paint suppliers---DAVE
Hi Ken--i have never wallpapered in the house---no chance i will be starting on the model---mind you,we have got decorators coming in next week, could tap him up -----
