Japlac

Postby Alan Riozzi » November 18th, 2011, 9:52 am

Has any body had any experience of using Japlac paint on open structures, particularly over Koverall. I am thinking of spraying from the tin thinned with white spirit. Thanks.

All my varous size Greenley tugs with built up wings are painted with Japlac and after several years of hard abuse there are no problems. I put japlac on with a 1" roller. Simpler that spraying and a nice finish. just throw the roller away when finished as they are so cheep.

I have not tried thinning it for spraying (there used to be spray cans available) but it brushes out nicely, or, as John says, a small roller. It is super light, petrol resistant and stays shiny! Personally, I would certainly not spray it.
