Why not put some of your P47 on this thread Gregg. We've had to mess about with the fuselage paint mask sizes a bit as this model is neither 1/4 or 1/5th scale and doesn't have very accurate lines, if anyone else needs a set of masks for one of these models, then ring Nigel at Flightline Graphics as he now has the right sizes . So far the wings and belly pan have had a coat of primer applied.

Interesting pics Jason, just got my anorak on an noticed that they are two different aircraft, although both are OS H. The one with s/n 41674 has it's code letters under the port wing, I can't tell if mine has them too, now I'm going to have to get the book out again.

Good spot.

On the underside these were buzz numbers put on after the end of the war to make it easier to identify bored fighter jocks flying too low!

During WW2 these wouldn't have been their.

Cheers

Hi Ozy

Nothing happening to any of my projects now until Jan as I'm in the process of moving house and workshop. Once the workshop is fully functioning I'll be able to work much faster as it's a much bigger space than before and will be better equipped. I recently moved most of my aircraft there and thought I'd do a costing of my unfinished projects, crikey, will never do that again. It's frightening to know how much you need to spend to finish half a dozen models.

Dave, what engine is in yours? has it flown yet? I'm thinking cooling looks like an issue with it as the cowl just fits tight round the firewall leaving now exit. I've just made a working vent in the scale position in front of the tailwheel and will be taking the hole cutter to the firewall to allow the hot air to travel back.
Anyone had over heating problem with this model?

Hi Stewart,

Zenoah 38.......not yet....i need to fuel proof it and just finish off installing the engine gear etc.......i need to go and see a friend as it's my first petrol engine....just in case i miss something.......Richard Scarbough has flown with this set up for years at comp level with no problems.......the only one i have and it's a BIG one is noise........i've got the standard silencer the little black one that comes with the engine....anyone know how these perform to a noise meter......my club is getting a bit sensitive about petrol engines and noise........might have to go if it's too loud....

I use the standard Zenoah 38 silencer in my T240 and Mustang. Cant give you an official noise level but it is the quietest petrol engine on the flying site and quieter than most of the 2 stroke glows
