Very happy you will be joining the Spitfire Squadron Mike. As if we didn't already know , you have got just the right skills and approach. I will now be filling the site with photos covering all parts. Hopefully it will build into a scale 'how to' reference source. Thanks.

My close friend and ace jet pilot Martyn Serginson paid a visit to the FL shop this week.
As you can see he brought with him a 1/4 scale T33 which is nearing completion.
We were not totally surprised when we compaired the wing area of my new MK 9 Spit of the same scale with the T33.

This display season we will be flying the 'Vintage prop/turbine pair' at selected shows' to demonstrate two classic aircraft that represent the end of one era in aviation and the start of another.

Martyn is a true aeromodeller of the old school , which has lead to superbly high standards of prep with his models.
The working, auto slow opening scale canopy on the T33, is a great example of modeling skill.

I could'nt help but notice this posting,is this Martyn Serginson to whom you refer the same geezer that I know by that name ????? - if so please let me know in advance at which ''selected shows'' you two will be performing and I will make sure I am there to provide support,encouragement and plenty of black bags - honestly though a nice idea about exhibiting a 'vintage pair',I have always been partial to that sort of thing myself as you well know.

See you soon Mate and by the way can you reccomend anyone to fly my 1/4 scale Sea Fury in formation with the two Corsairs this season for our '' Naval Radials '' slot.

Trevor, me or Kenny Bones would like to do that with enough stick time on warbirds at that scale to give it the 'right stuff'.
I can think of only two others who fit the bill, that would be Richard Scarborough and Gregg Veasey, though Gregg flies TX mode 1.
Preparation and confidence are the name of the game.
PM me on the subject, I am also planning a new composite warbird this year and have a proposal to put to you.

Made an ideal flight across the English Channel today. Direct line from Calais to Manston, 38 miles but probably
42 covered after two massive orbits of Sandwich bay waiting for chase plane to catch up for air to air shots before making an approach into Manston. Speed varied between 80 and 100 mph. Tarmac to Tarmac 40 minutes with 1.5 litres of 2 ltr tank used. Climbed to 1400 out of Calais but had to drop to 500 to go under mid channel murk. Then back up to 1800 to arrive in broken sunlight over Kent coast.
Landing fine after Eurostar touched down but had to make a go round and second approach with Spit. Connie home safe. What a feeling. Superb hospitality in France. Stewart Clifford, brilliant ground support, more to follow.
