RUMOUR has it, that at woodford this afternoon, the VC10 made a succesfull test flight in the hands of our chairman, watched by the senior managment of avro heritage, all was well, but it ended up a 3 engined bird, when one engine developed a slight fault, many many congrats to the team, the model will be on static at cosford we hope, wont it be nice to see it on the circuit, WELL DONE BOYS!!! :D

Blooming heck Alan---it soons gets around doesnt it---we only got permission to use Woodford at 9 pm last night,so it was a rush arranging things and personnel etc,but finally after 6? years of hard work by Terry and his team, the VC 10 finally lifted off this afternoon----a further 2 flights took place to experiment with the fowler flaps etc,but on cool down at the end of the flight one of the turbines appears to have seized---so that was the end of flying for now----it will be on display at Cosford and a cd will be playing on the LMA stand for anyone wanting to see the flights---hopefully it will be sorted by next week so we can complete further flights so it can hopefully display at Elvington--DAVE

Really pleased to hear of this successful project. Hope the chairman has been spurred on and will get his Vulcan sorted . What a formation that would make.

What a magnificent site - as graceful as the fullsize.... Let's hope it gets through its test-flight schedule for Elvington .....!

Incidentally, have a look at the real one doing a touch and go at my 'local' recently:

(Certainly an absence of any left rudder on touch down ........?? DJ does a lot better on the model!).

Smoother than a smooth thing, i was a tad optimistic about the tin triangle, but its time draws near, hope a lot of you looking at this flight from Woodford are thinking of attending the fly-in on bank holiday weekend,

Well Done Terry & Co, plus of course Dave for the flying. It certainly looked smooth on the video.
Now having produced such a lovely aeroplane tell us you've changed your mind about finishing it in Battleship Grey............

For the 3rd time in a week---the management at Woodford kindly allowed us to use their fantastic runway facilities, and today we completed flight 13 so its all down to how busy the CAA are now,we should be a go for Elvington :D :D :D :D :D
