ZIROLI SPITFIRE AND REDUCTION DRIVE

Postby wayne owen » November 20th, 2012, 5:47 pm

hi guys
ok question, thinking on doing a ziroli spit as they are the early mks ,its 1/4.5 scale at 100" bit of a shame its not 1/4 but you cant have it all i guess anyway going too use a zenoha 62 and would like too use a reduction drive and get a more or less scale solo prop,so question will the mickreeves reduction fit in the ziroli spit seeing its just slightly smaller??? thanks for your help,
regards and happy landings

Wayne if it was me I'd blow the drawing up to 1/4 then you know it's going in.
When I designed mine I drew it up at 1:3.9 and the plug went in.
I'm thinking you could get all the quarter bits from Mick or better still just build Micks.
Simple enough to mod a cowling into MK2 or 5.

hey mike
i did think of doing that but if im dead honest ,all though it came out good in the end i have built one of micks before now im not running things in the ground here but i said then never again just too many flaws!! my mate just finsihed his he had same problems as me,i did think about chancing a arm again with the new 1/4 scale spit he just bought out but im not willing too part with that sort of money too make myself work if you know what i mean, if yours was mk1 i would have went for that as time is at a premium at the moment ,so next best thing will be ziroli i guess made about 5-7 of his over the years go together well and fly well ,thanks for your input,
kind regards wayne
