Yep , gotta say well done to Steve for getting the third Yak 50 in the air.
The DL50 also seemed more that enough for this model.
I wonder who will be next in the air, Gregg or Mike L.?

Yep I'm adding a little more detail but not too much so fingers crossed it won't weigh a lot more. it seems anything 30lb or below should perform very well on a modern 50/55 or the old G62's so I should be OK.

My Kit, well most of it, has arrived today. Its a fair old parcel, should get the second one later this week. The wife saw it arrive and was full of questions, "not another model", who is that for and so on. Its off to Kingfisher Aviation to be built as soon as all the bits come together, need to sort out a color scheme now.

Not convinced that wing area is enough though ..oh no, that's the CO Jonny Horne's horizontal stabiliser.

The engine in mines a DL 50 and considering it was brand new and it had only run for five minutes before it was thrown into the air, im pretty pleased with it.
It seems to have more than enough power for the Yak with hopfully more to come once its run in.

For any one building one of these models, if you have sevos in the tail and glass and spray it with a modern light petrol up front, you will almost certainly need the batteries in the front, i have 3 x 3800mha 6Vlts in a box over the engine and still had to add a little lead.

But of coarse it could be just my rubbish building making it heavy at the tail end.

Either way you can expect a great flying model, at anything up to about 30Lbs i would say.

It will be interesting to see how mine balances with the heavy old G62 lump in the front then. One things for sure though, the differences in motors, finishing and radio install in the first models to be completed will give good knowledge to all those who will be building this model in the future.

Z62 is the way to go. Kens will go vertical and the batteries are in the cockpit.

But kens servos are not in the back and is film covered.

Mine is glassed and will be painted and has 3 servo's in the tail.

My eliv servos are in the tail end. ( Hitec MG645)

Masked off the wing and tail fairings to build them up with primer. Also masked the panel line on the wing as this is an overlap panel. The rest of the panel lines will be done the usual way with lining tape. Then its onto the rivets and from the close up pics I have it looks like they are flush on the fuz and raised on the wing.
