Hi Paul, the tail cone and the tailplane fairings are soft balsa sheet and block. I find it best to stick them on and then carve / sand to shape in situ. The beauty is, if you mess up, you can just rip it off and start again. The wing mounting blocks in the fuse were scrapped. I made up 1/8" full depth ply doublers for the wing seats, slots were cut and 2" wide 1/4" ply plates were inserted and reinforced with balsa triangle. The wing blocks in the centre section were replaced with 1/4" ply plates flush with the bottom of the ribs then sheeted over. Balsa block was then added to infil up to the top of the ribs and then sheeted over. When completed, the full wing assembly was placed on the fuse and aligned up, 1/8" pilot holes were then drilled through the centre section and cross plates in the fuse. These were then drilled out to 6mm and captive "T" nuts were fitted. I've attached a couple of pictures for you, its all pretty much explained in my build thread. By the way, I do like lights, I will deffo be looking at doing something similar to your set up...very impressive. Jonesey.
