Gaydon 2014

Postby Mike Booth » October 26th, 2014, 11:22 pm

Just a line to say once again an excellent close to the season with todays Gaydon static.
Keith's Super Connie, the Rickets Boston, and the Pucara were worth the trip alone.
Congratulations on inspired projects.
I had a good laugh with the Pucara owner Ken, when I said I was building a 40% Harrier so we wouldn't need to fly it as display pair, I could just bomb him on the runway.
Despite the size I thought it was a great example of a light, but super strong composite build.
Also, The Dawn Patrol builders never cease to raise the bar on detail.
Great to see all the familiar faces.
Thanks to Tony Hooper and team for another memorable trip to Warwickshire.
Cheers. Mike.

Yes, I'd like to add my thank to the above to all those who work behind the scenes and to all those who brought models to put on show. I always come away inspired to crack on with my own projects

.
The big budget models are truly impressive but I also thought that the Tupolev by Karl was a pretty amazing example of what can be done by one bloke who doesn't get bogged down with all the potential problems of a build, - just cracks on, uses ingenuity and 'shedology' to build a cracking model without investing megabucks. Well done Karl, can't wait to hear of it flying.

It was indeed a very well organised and stress free event, many thanks to all involved, to both the LMA and the Gaydon folks for great season closer.

Stuart, I think Karl should take on the title of His Royal Shedliness!!
