12v fuel pump

Hi all, thinking of or not about using 12v fuel pump to get fuel into my petrol powerd airplanes.
Should I be worried about petrol, spark etc etc.

I use a Kavan 12v pump built onto the side of my petrol can, not been a problem so far, always take the battery off when not in use though.

Same here, the Sullivan pump works fine, I use a 2 cell lipo to slow the fill down, especially on the jets.

It is worth noting that car pumps tend to be of the diaphragm type and are not reversible, in this case a simple 5 port 2 position valve can be used to switch between fill and empty.

Connect the pump between the 2 ports on the side of the valve with 2 ports on, connect the middle of the 3 ports on the other side to your fueling pipe, connect the remaining 2 ports on the 3 side to the fuel pick up from the can.
