Mike,

Sorry to hear you're having problems. Send me an email direct, it doesn't rely on me looking on here so I can help in under a day.

You can change the Member's area password to one you can remember using the instructions in the Journal or here https://www.largemodelassociation.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/04/Members-Area-Picture-Guide.pdf
You can change your forum and Member's area to be the same, that's no problem.

What looks like one website is in fact three entirely separate databases that look mostly the same (the website, the forum and the member's area). Because forum user names must be real names, several members have the same name, not every member is registered on the forum and forum member's aren't necessarily LMA members, we can't use forum usernames for the member's area. That's why the login usernames are different. Passwords are up to you though, so as above, can be all the same if you want.
LMA Secretary - I've got a reasonable idea where you live!

I think what mike is getting at is that a lot of people are not good with computers and get frustrated very quickly when things go wrong, what is wrong with simply having the shows on the forum as they are and we just post yes I'm coming with whatever aircraft then Rob add them to attending list, very easy and punters happy. :D

I'm totally savi With IT and Pcs.
It just wasn't working.
Simplicity is the name of the game.
If the trail is not straight forward, response time slow, or failed altogether, there is no gain and no point.
Same with build pictures, unfortunately endless resizing of images kills the desire to post anything.
Respect to those who put the free time in maintaining though.

If there is a problem, like I said, email me direct and I will help you and get it fixed.

So far we've got nearly 300 show bookings, and me doing that manually just isn't going to happen, don't forget how much us on the committee get paid for doing this.

I'll shortly be publishing a flow chart that shows how and when show bookings happen, and an improved picture guide on what exactly to do.

So, again, if you're having any problems, please let me know directly and I will help.

Ken, the booking system for the pilots is to benefit all, we have had, the, I am coming to all shows and will bring X amount of planes only to find they don’t come and don’t cancel. This is very frustrating for the show directors.

A. they end up with pilots and planes short for the show program.
B. they have stop pilots from attending because the show were fully booked up.

The system we have now (however frustrating it may be for you all for the time being) is and will be better in the end. When you book in now you are only reserving a place. You will be automatically asked to confirm your booking very close to the date if you don’t then you won’t be sent a ticket to attend, which then opens your place up for someone else who is waiting on the reserved list. So we should never have a show where we don’t know who is going to bother to turn up.

I know and understand computers are voodoo and magic for some of us and they avoid them wherever possible. But we as an organisation have to move with the times or we will get left out in the cold as the other association move on.

Rob has spent a lot of his very limited free time on this system please give it a chance to work, remember the forum when it was first set up everybody hated it, some still do but most now can’t remember anything else.

Pictures are restricted by the company that host the forum it is out of our control. Too have the type of forum you want would cost the LMA a small fortune to keep it up and running, something we feel is not worth spending members’ money on just so you can post pictures easy. Let’s get real here. Other forums rely on members’ contributions and advertising to keep them afloat, we don’t.

A little bit of extra work from yourselves to post your latest project or pride and joy is not too much to ask is it. I hope this clears things up for you all.
