Started working on the leading edge of the wing.
Applying strips on the top and bottom, then will add a complete sheet to cap it off. Figured I could save some wood.

Glassed the outside of the flaps with 3/4 oz cloth, did this before they get beat up to much.

Finished up shaping the leading edge.
Have one side glassed.
Soon I will finally be able to cut the outer wing tip off, which will make it easier to work on.

Started working on the aileron covers to close the gap.
Made a sanding tool to remove material to the thickness of my glass.
Layed up two layers of 2oz cloth, think that's what it is.
Taped it in location, lifted it up applied medium CA, and glued it into location.
Next I will just fill the gap, and sand flush.

Thanks Andy, I still have a long way to go, but slowly getting there.

Finished up the last of the aileron flanges (if that's what they are called) and am applying putty to smooth out.
This stage is almost complete.
Soon I will be able to separate the wings.

I used a pin method for my hinges, I have seen several different ways to do this.
I used the yellow portion of a nyrod, which has an outside diameter of 1/8 inch.
The inner diameter takes a 1/16 inch pin, either steel or brass, your choice.

I made up hinges from popular wood, nothing to crazy, just Mede them ass the same. I did this for my flaps, so you can see the yellow nyrod.

What is nice about the Nyrod is the flexibility, so I have it travel the complete length of the surface that I need to move, makes inserting the pin easy and it always lines up. The brass pin is more flexible than steel.

For the ailerons, I made up three hinges, and constructed the bottom portion of the aileron.
Then added a leading edge, and cut out the locations for the hing in the aileron.
Lined it up with the wing, cut slots in the trailing edge, and slid the male end into the trailing edge.
I could then adjust it for height so the top and bottom surface remains flush.
Then glued in the male end, and applied some triangle stock for added security.
I completely sheeted the aileron before it was attached.

A point on the actual hinges, for the control surface, you glue the complete length of nyrod in, then cut off the piece inside the two female pieces, to accept the male end, which remains in the wing.
You need to glue a small piece in the male end.
The rotation is smooth, no slop.

Finished capping the top and bottom or the aileron bay, applied some 3/4 oz cloth to seal it.

The fit of the ailerons is good, deflection up is good. Could not deflect down, the aileron horn is in the way and I need to cut out a pocket in the bottom cap strip for it, that can be done later.

Hope to separate the outer wing in a couple of days.

I now have a four piece wing.
Separated the wing with a hacksaw blade, turned out pretty good.
Lots of sanding and cleaning up to be done.

Next thing to do is to fill the voids at the wing tube ends.
There may be a few voids which I will stuff in some cotton, then mix up some epoxy and fill the ends to secure it.

Cleaned the edges up on both the inner and outer wings.
Sanded them smooth, and applied glass cloth to seal up the ends.
I still need to do the outer wings.

Wing ends are sealed with glass cloth.
Ailerons will protrude when the wing is apart. I have lots of deflection up and down.
Also put some thin CA on the anti rotation dowels to strengthen them up.

More work completed on the wings.
Put some scotch tape on the inboard root, then a light coat of Vaseline as a release agent.
Mixed up some west systems and micro balloons and applied that to the root of the outer wing.
