Thanks everyone.

I am very happy to report that the Dragonfly has flown successfully and is 2/3rds the way through its Over 20kg testing. I could have completed all 6 flights in one day, as no problems were encountered at all, but I'm not sure that is for the best.

She flew very well indeed, loads of power from the Kolm EZ50's and a good turn of speed. Stalls were a no event with a very gentle drop of the left wing. 3-point landings should be no problem when i get used to her!

Congrats Steve, that's a beautiful aeroplane you've created , and the build thread gives us all something to aim for - not that I'll ever reach your standard!
Look forward to seeing her during the year.

Thanks Pete,

That's a really interesting article. I guess the price is the only thing that stopped the Draghonfly from being even more popular. It was certainly a very capable little airplane.

There'll not be any plans though, it's just too complicated a shape to put down on paper (for me anyway!) I can't believe many people would want to build one!!

Absolutely stunning Steve - congratulations.
Hoping to get to Cosford for the first time this year, so hopefully see you there.

Currently in Lakeland, FL to judge at Top Gun - they'd be gobsmacked by the Dragonfly. Bit awkward to transport though.

Cheers
Graham

Cheers Graham.

It would be fabulous to be able to take it to Top Gun but you're right....I'm not sure I could afford the re-mortgage to get it over there!!

A Winterton Club member snapped this at East Kirkby, during the LMA Show last weekend.

Thanks Melv!

Steve,

When you suggested the Jeti MAX BEC2s to me in the Electrics forum and said you had two in your Dragonfly I had to search for it and found your flight (possibly maiden) on Youtube. A beautiful model aircraft and a lovely flight. I look forward to seeing it in the flesh!

I did buy a Jeti MAX BEC2 and I am just about to fit it.

Thanks for the advice.

Steve
