decision made KISS as possible,

but i do prefer 1 channel to one control service so i need 12 plus spares, so 2 batteries 2 rx set-up to give me 16 channels i have this set up on my other 8 channels models, ie tiger moth, wot4xl etc

i dont use y leads unless i need to

actually 12 channels is enough but they don't make a 12 channel rx so u have to combine 2 8 channels.

chris not trying to make it complex just sounds complex, enough to make it safe and get it back on the ground in one piece if thats ever possible, even though its under 20kg sometimes better to some redundancy than none at all 2 rx give me that redundancy without the cost of a powerboard

Are you sure its not a large multi like a Wellington, B17 or Lanc?

quid on it, bet thats more channels than Daves Vulcan. Come to think of it, my 34 foot span Luscombe only uses 4 channels.

Now then Paul. Don't tell fibs. I agree that it has Elevator, Rudder, Throttle and Ailerons, which is four, but I'm sure that there are other switches, levers, and door handles that are also similarly manually operated.

Good practise for the bigger model, but lets be honest, you aint going to be having a super model, i have the chipmunk, it will be getting a single reciever, decent 5c cell 5cell battery pack, JR slide switch, and a mix of mixers, or Y leads, but all components will be tried and tested, keep it simple, thats all that is needed my radios JR dsm2, reciever will be a well flown one, not yet decided

true no supermodel but i do have the DC3 140" zilroli kit in the shed just go to find the time to build it?

and that will have full redundentcy with PDB

Hi Richard.
This is getting way too complicated and taking up pole position on the New Projects slot. Technical issues are covered elsewhere.
Here is a simple solution.
I use SM Services powersave boards. Below is a photo of my Bronco which is quite a heavy model (you will notice how much I have aged during the course of your thread)

This model has:-
2 ailerons
Elevator
2 rudders
4 flaps
2 throttle
Steering nose wheel
Retracts
So 13 servos in all.
The 13 servos spread are each connected to the 12 outputs of the powersave box (throttles are doubled up).
All these are controlled with a 9 channel receiver.

On a separate note there are no chokes on these engines either. Thumb in trumpet hole until you get a wet one...

You will see that it has provision for two separate batteries. These can be 6v NiMh cells or 6.6v LiFe cells if you like. These are separated internally and each has its own independent switch on the way in of course.

Each servo output is connected to the powersave box with a fly lead. If you want to you can make a Y lead to get two outputs from the one input (see below)

All the power is now carried in the powersave box and the receiver gets its power via the fly leads.

This set up should be more than adequate for your model.
