SOLD Zeroli Beechcraft D-18

Postby Wayne Butler » January 5th, 2017, 7:07 pm

In Good condition as its never flown.
Has all electrics, batteries and servos installed but buyer may want to re-wire etc to suite their own standards.
Has lighting system fitted to replicate the Flying Laboratories Aircraft it is representing.
Robart Air Up / Air down retracts.

Needs LMA Test flight certification as is over 20Kg

Wing in 3 pieces Fuz in one piece. Fits in my Mondeo Estate no trouble.

Just do not have the time to get it certified and flying and its a shame to have it hanging in my Garage..

Engines run ok I've run them.

Would not take a lot to get her flying...

£1000 ono

Hi Wayne,
I built this Beech about 5 years ago and never flew it because I suddenly developed macular degeneration ,which can be the precursor to going blind, not so in my case after getting ongoing treatment.
Enough of that but that explains why I sold the model. It was built after seeing an article in warbirds full size mag showing many pics of their demonstrator.
The engines are Zenoah 38's - New in this model ,you are right about the wiring for the lighting systems (over 40 leds in pods etc) as I installed far too heavy wire ,thinking I didn't want a drop in current.Probably some two core servo wire would have done the job, thus saving around 2lbs in weight.
It had a two receiver JR system as per the 20kg scheme, four batteries installed in the nose to cope with everything.
The cost of the model was probably twice what you are asking, and given the right customer to sort the wiring out would be unique on the show circuit.
Good luck with the sale I would love to see it in the air

Pete

If it's of use, I built a similar Ziroli D-18 with twin 38's, Robart gear, twin Rx's and 4 batteries for a client 6-7 yrs ago and it came out at 23kg's.

Hi Phil,
It wasn't as heavy as that - from dim memory around the 22kg but Wayne will have the exact weight on the 20 kg paperwork.
