Wire Bending

Postby Alex Murison » October 17th, 2009, 3:31 pm

Hello,

Can anyone recommend anyone in the UK who can bend 5mm wire (Hostetler Jungmeister cabane and undercarriage)? I have emailed a specialist firm in the States but they may no longer be current as they have not replied to several emails.
Also can I borrow, or obtain a copy of, a Tartan Twin 44cc Manual? I will be pleased to reimburse your costs. Thanks in advance for your help.

Regards,
Alex Murison.

Hi Alex,
Is the Tartan Twin manual you want for the petrol or glow version, I have a glow one somewhere in the loft.

Cheers,
Barrie

Hello Barrie,
Thanks for responding. I have the glow version - the prop driver on my engine has cracked and is unuseable - I believe that later versions have a more substantial driver without the six bolts. I am trying to locate a spare driver with little success so far and the manual will be helpful as I may be able to get a replacement turned by a friend who has access to a lathe. A photocopy of your manual will be very helpful as my engine was obtained used minus manual.
Regards,
Alex

Hi Alex,
I have found the manual which is just a double sided glossy A4 sheet with set up instructions on one side and a full exploded view on the other. It does show the multi bolt prop fixing. I changed mine years ago to a single bolt fixing without any problems. If you let me know your email address I will scan and send a copy of the manual.
Cheers,
Barrie

Hello Barrie,
Looks like the original prop driver may not have been up to the job!
My email address is alex.murison@talktalk.net. Looking forward to reading the manual. Thanks for your help.
Regards,
Alex

Thanks to Barrie King & Michael Ronan for responding. Tartan Twin info received and I am going to build a heavy duty wire bender! Alex Murison
