Show flight line distances

Postby Paul Williams » June 9th, 2017, 6:52 pm

Hi all, I'm looking for the LMA show flight line guidance i.e. flying distance from the crowd line. We fly at full size shows and they want the Reg to which we fly, so if there is a copy I could have please I would be grateful

Paul
Flight line display distances for model aircraft at public shows required under CAA regulations are as follows:-
1. Take off and landing - minimum of 30m from crowd line
2. Flight display line for aircraft Under 20kg - 50m from crowd line
3. Flight display line for Over 20kg or fast jets - 75m from crowd line

No's 1 and 2 are already in CAP 658 - No 3 will be in the next update of CAP 658.

Additionally, as full size airshow organisers, they will obviously be fully familiar with CAP403-

https://publicapps.caa.co.uk/docs/33/CAP403_E14_A1_MAY2017.pdf

including Chapter 21 'Model aircraft as part of a Flying Display' on pages 141-143
LMA Secretary - I've got a reasonable idea where you live!
