I sent an email to everyone last week saying they were being printed and I'd update you all when they were posted. They are just having the last couple little niggling issues with the membership data printing sorted out before they are all printed, stuffed into envelopes and posted out.

Anybody having any problems caused by the lack of a membership card, please let us know.

Thanks

This treatment is rubbish. Someone needs their **se kicking my local club is insisting on seeing the card. This is not good enough.

You dont pay enough money to abuse people. Why not just show them the email?

Kevin, Why would your club insist on seeing your LMA membership card. They should be BMFA affiliated
and therefore you have insurance.
You know we are a friendly bunch in the LMA and some very hard unpaid work is undertaken by our committee
and others. Verbal abuse is something that does not usually occur on our forum and it would be nice if that were to continue.

Kevin, am I right in thinking you're not in the BMFA as well as the LMA? If your local club is BMFA affiliated, by default you'll be required to be a member of the BMFA and you'll therefore have the insurance cover. Equally, once you've paid your subs to the LMA you're covered, regardless of being in receipt of a card or piece of paper.

Time is moving on a bit in fairness but in my experience an email from Rob Buckley, who is the Secretary, usually satisfies most club officials.

Kevin, my address is in the front of the journal. If you want to come round for any form of kicking, visitors are always welcome.

As I've said in every update and on the renewal email if you renewed online, email directly if any insurance or other problems and I'll sort them out.

Thanks for the replies, firstly, Bob my comments aren't abusive and secondly I do not see the point of paying the BMFA for insurance when my membership here covers any obligations I have.

You have a different attitude to abuse than I have, I'm afraid. Saying someone (obviously one of the volunteer committee of the LMA) 'needs their ar**e kicking' is not only abusive, its threatening.
If the club you belong to do not accept the word of the LMA then maybe that is a problem for them.

My comments weren't criticisms of anyone at the LMA, but I understand that for the first time the club has put the printing and distribution of membership cards/documents in the hands of an outside contractor it is they that need chivvying up, if I were to take someone's money in my companies then not supply the goods in fairly short order I would very quickly have very few customers, which to all intents and purposes is what members are, customers.

I signed on a sticky white label, cut it to fit the position on the card and ran a bit of sellotape over it. (there are other sticky tapes available  )
