Nice to see the interest, here is some rear end shots, they are hollowed where i can to keep the rear end weight to a minimum.

Today the cowling plug was finished and sent off to the fibreglass moulders, with a bit of luck we should see the finished cowls in a week or two.

today saw the wheel well coming to shape, the bearers are designed for a unitract unit, with a ply rib already fitted into wing to get the right shape and angle.

well the wings are nearly finished, as you can see flaps and ailerons are on, all servo boxes cut in and servo wires run. once retracts arrive i can box in the wheel wells. meantime i need to bandage outer panrls and fit controle horns.

Hi all,
my Tiffy build is also progreesing well, with the model up on its wheels for the first time at the weekend.
Gave me a chance to weigh what i got so far as well, my build is as far as Chris's but i have the UC & wheels in place, so far it is only 12.5 lb.
So that allows for plenty of the lead that i am sure it will need!

Looks good Chris, dont you just love the way that firewall is flush with the leading edge and there is about 4 metres sticking out at the back.
Ive just finished three 1/5 scale Napier sabre engines if you and Bonesy fancy one.
They come out at 4 kilos and will turn a scale prop so no worries balancing your models.

What are you using for centre section spars? lot of foam missing, doesnt look to be a lot between the front of the wheel well, and the ply tongue plate?? are there spars running across, to take the pressure away from the areas that are cut out?

love the tiff, wish you well with it,hope you dont mind my quiry :)

Hi Alan, yes this was a problem we picked up on, since the shot in the pic i have run a ply spar which runs behind tongue plate and cuts through slotting in with rib two, this modification will change slightly and should take place of tongue plate (which shall be a bit further forward) and then run through rib 1 & 2 and go into outer panel, the wing is about 5 inches thick and the well cuts in about 3 inches so there is a bit left there too, thanks for your interest
