6.6 life battery’s, versus 6 volt servos
Question, can you run a servo, in this case, a Futaba 3001, on a 2 cell life battery rated at 6.6 volt, servos will be going in the wings on a Wot 4 XL, Does one need a regulated lead or switch, or can one just go for it, without letting the magic smoke out of the servos, I must add, the models not mine, it’s a mates, Orrid things!

Just plug it in, they''ll be fine.

I seem to remember that Futaba say that they are not rated for 7 volts as kicked out by a fully charged Life battery
Cue the opening of the diode can of worms again.

I've run futaba S128, S148, S3001 & S3003 all on 2S A123 packs and they all worked fine.
Don't forget, a fully charged NiMh battery is 1.5v per cell and a LiFe is 3.6v per cell (just to compare a 5 cell NiMh & 2 cell LiFe)

Thanks Rob, I’ve passed the info on, I also told him good metal geared digital servos for £6 do not exist, they tend to be a tad rubbish,

On 5 cell NiMH I've only experienced problems with JR591 servos, which chatter like mad on a freshly charged pack, other makes are fine in my experience.
