building a two piece fusalage

Hi
I am looking for informatiom related to the construction of a two piece fusalage .(Needed to fit my car.) I have been looking at a Wellington kit for some time now ,and due to the present stay at home rules ,it could be a good time to start it.
I figured on cuting just behind the wing but not sure about the renforcing needed to take the loads.
I have looked on the forums but can find nothing
Any info would be appreciated

May I ask what car you have ? My Nijhuis 158" Wellington fits inside a Ford Mondeo with a one piece fuselage. I would maybe suggest that if your car isn't big enough for the Wellington fuselage it's probably not big enough for the wings either.

I have just read your post ,twice in fact as I could not see the reason for you to send it . The make of car I have is totally irrelevant
as the model will either fit inside or it wont. In my case the wings will and the fus wont. Hence my inquiry about two peace fus.
I have since found a post on this forum started in 2014 showing the build of a 1/6 scale Lancaster it features a two piece fus with lots of photos and info on how it was done. May be of interest to perspective builders of any large model.

For true scale you would need a three piece fuselage as per the full size Lancaster.
I have actually seen a Lincoln - a slightly larger Lanc, overshoot on landing and the fuselage broke into three pieces .

Hi Arthur,

I asked what car you had as someone with the same car may have experience of fitting a Wellington in it. There's a lot of them out there.

When I built my Welly, I expected the fuselage would be the problem for transport, but actually it wasn't - the fuselage in one piece is fine, it's the wings that take up the space which surprised me !

It's a really nice model to build, have fun !
