Flair 1/4 scale Stearman dummy engine mouldings

Postby Cliff Magnus » September 27th, 2021, 6:16 pm

Hi all, Does anyone have the dummy engine mouldings and the central glass boss that they attach to from the Flair kit? I am also after the undercarriage leg trousers and oleo under fuselage mouldings.
Also could anyone recommend a suitable petrol radial engine for this model? Preferably 7 cylinder.

Many thanks Cliff

I got most of those parts from fibreglass specialties in the USA a few years ago.
I think the UMS 77 would work well in it.

Hi. Im restoring a flair stearman and have gone for the ums 7-90 which looks spot on. Haven't flown it yet but it has stacks of power.

Thanks Karl, I am thinking of going for the 7-77 glow engine as its lighter simpler and cheaper than the petrol. have you any experience of UMS glow with an on board unit?

Thanks Stewart, I have been all petrol for 15 years but I am thinking of the 7-77 UMS glow engine as its lighter simpler and cheaper than the petrol with an onboard glow. . Do you have any experience of this glow engine range?
