The Grandsons of Wiles and Baldock-Marrow obviously, are just as good at keeping quiet about operations, as their grandfathers were.

Well done they look fantastic.

Just watched a programme on quest (DTV 38)by The Pub Landlord and it shows a lot of footage of the typhoon in Normandy very interesting.
What a brilliant aircraft it was and after seeing this programme looking forward to see it flying in model form. Well done 8-)

About 6 weeks ago i was contacted by the secretary Antony Knight of T.E.C.T. ( The Typhoon Entente Cordiale Trust ) This is pilots who flew Typhoons mainly over Normandy, and they asked if i would like to show my model at any future events of theirs, as you can imagine i was delighted to be asked. Yesterday was my first meet with them and lucky for me at North Weald, on my doorstep, Ken and i met up with them at 10 a.m. as they were setting up for doing autographs, and it was a great honour to meet these Pilots we could have listened to them all day but they had to meet the general public for signing, we heard of how they flew, how they fired rockets, some did bomb runs only, and on hard ground flying at 15 feet the bomb would bounce and be behind their tailplane with a 8 second fuse, absolute heroes, then we spoke with the famous Flt Lt David Ince, he led low level sorties into Normandy with photo re-conesense, and early napalm with 193 and 257 Sqn, once the Napalm canisters dropped they tumbled and exploded and at 15ft the flames were chasing up their wings, i got all the pilots to sign under my tailplane, it was a great Honour to meet these Heroes and i am pleased to be a part of this.
If you google David Ince Typhoon pilot you will find all about him, well worth reading, David has just released a new book called Brotherhood of the Sky's which can be found on Amazon, the book has many pictures of him with his Tiffy and is detailed of his events, each book sold money goes to their charity to aid the upkeep of the Typhoon monument in Normandy where many of these brave pilots Died, or if you would like to donate please send me a cheque made payable to T.E.C.T. and i shall pass it on.

An Inspiring Day
Chris

An update.

the typhoon has clocked up a few flights now and very enjoyable too. after building the first kit i have now made a few minor changes to the fuselage as a couple of bits were slightly out, this has gone back to Slec who are now cutting the final kits for me, as to the wing it was all perfect, but have now decided to cut the flaps and ailerons out making it even easier for the builder, so this has gone back to Bill kits where he is doing the alterations next week, once this is checked over he will continue with the batch, orders are now coming in, and i still hope to launch this at Wings and Wheels, its next outing is this Friday at Tibenham, then Weston Park. if anybody is interested there is a two page article on the models in the July issue of radio control model flyer which should be in the shops today.

It all looks simply spiffing old boy, though we commissioned officers can only fly Spits.
