2011 Subs

Postby Alan Bithrey » December 1st, 2010, 10:51 pm

Please could someone remind me when the subs are due and how we renew please?
I'm assuming that a membship form will be included with the next Journal (when's that due?) is that correct?

Thanks.

Alan

Good morning Alan--subs are due at year end--they have been held once again at £30,but for renewal before January 31st we have offered a £10 discount again making existing member renewals £20 for 2011---renewal forms and details are in the Xmas journal which is at the printers at the moment and will be with everyone in next few weeks ---DAVE

Help,

Many banks and building societies are beginning to remove their cheque book facilities. Mine has just sent me a letter telling me that I can
no longer issue cheques and to destroy my cheque book. Is there nothing they won't do to save every last penny at our inconvenience. This will become the norm with all banks and building societies in the near future so there is an issue looming with making payments to small establishments or organisations who don't have the facilities to accept transactions electronically.

Is there any other means of paying my LMA subs other than sending cash ( don't like the idea of that) through the post. Does the LMA have
a paypal account or something similar so as to allow us to pay securely online.

Paul.

Paul---i agree about the cheq problem--its something we need to address for renewals next year,,we dont have and dont want paypal---but for some of our foreign members last year who dont have cheqs,we supplied the LMA bank details for a bank transfer and this method could be used as a temp fix while we discuss the future years renewal procedure--DAVE

Me too! NEVER, NEVER send cash in the post. This is not the 'Royal Mail' we used to have.

Would postal orders suffice ?

If so, then I'll have hike it down to the post office and get some ( yes..we actually still have one of those in the village for the time being).

Either that or I could always send some valid Argus vouchers left over from last Christmas ... Just kidding.

I'll dig out my old and long forgotten cheque book from my other bank this year. :|
