Those metal tapes on the flappy bits look posh, I'll have to persuade Mr White to get some of those, are they the ones Meister supplies?

Nope, they are cut by hand from a standard roll of metal tape

Gonna give a meister cockpit a go on the refurb. It arrived yesterday along with a bag of bits and pieces too.

The 3 outlets were a bit of a mess but I didn't know how best to neaten them. Thankfully the smart a*se Veasey elder had one of his bright ideas! Once the edges are filled and paint is applied they should look pretty good/neat

Have done some work on the cockpit too. Because its being retro fitted I've had to cut the pieces about quite a bit to get them in but its coming on

Sorry to continue to hijack your thread Stewart, how you getting on with Steve's. Will it be ready for this coming season?

Thats ok Gregg, you carry on. Steves will be ready for this season, I'm just working on it as and when, between other things, should be on it properly in early Feb. The paint masks arrived from Flightline Graphics last week, just got one wing to finish priming then I will be adding a bit of surface detail before it's painted.
I like the vents might have to copy that too

Started painting the cockpit parts. Still lots to do to them before sticking them in but it doesn't look too bad already.

Hi all, I have sat in a P47, its huge! whilst you sit there you could put a suit case either side of you and go on holiday.
I have had the chance to sit in quite a few warbirds, Spit, Hurri, P40,P51, 109, 190, all the cats, F4u. And some more, but none of them had the space of a P47.

I am aware that the pilot is too big for the model.....and he's cracking up quite a bit.....but he's been in there for 10 years+ so he deserves to stay there

He's right you can run around in a P47 cockpit, Wildcats the same, need to make your pilot look forward Gregg or he could have a nasty accident

Because of all the hacking about I've had to do to squeeze the cockpit kit in, I wasn't particularly confident in how it would turn out. However, just with a bit of paint added its starting to look pretty good I think. Once the lid goes on it should look even better.

I also totally agree that the poor old bugger is too big. Anyone got a decent pilot they want to part with? Assuming not, the jolly brown giant will have to do
